Are there steps in the building?

Yes, we have steps – STEEP ONES! The Old Borough Arms was built in 1720 and We have very old steep stone steps to the entrance to the building.
Do you accept all credit cards?

We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards including American Express.

Is there a bank holiday rate?

All bank holidays will be charged at the high season weekend rate.

What’s your deposit policy?

We will require a £25 deposit to secure your reservation. This is non refundable.
Cancellation policy:

Unless 48 hours notice is given, we reserve the right to charge your credit / debit card the full amount.

Is there parking available?

No we do NOT have parking – Please do try to get here early where it may be less busy in Rye and you will be able too park outside the front of the Guest House to drop off luggage or passengers. Our staff are available to help with luggage, please just ask. There are car parks dotted around Rye and one right opposite the Guest House, however they do get full up quick – The early bird catches the worm!!
What bathroom goodies are available?

Towels are provided, as well as complementary shampoo Conditioner and soap.

When can I check in?

You can check into the bed and breakfast between 2pm and 6pm. In the Winter months we would appreciate an E.T.A

What time do I have to leave?

Check out is by 11am.

Do you cater for special diets?

Most diets can be catered for by prior arrangement.

ACCESS STATEMENT The Old Borough Arms is a grade 2 listed building and parts of the building date back to the early 18th century and our stairs reflect this, so therefore it may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties. We request that anyone wishing to make an enquiry or booking inform us of any special needs that they may have in order for us to meet any personal requirements. The hotel does not have ramp access for wheel chair users and there are many steep uneven steps into the main entrance. There is a ground floor entrance which has many cobbled stones outside, the entrance to the ground floor door is 80 centimetres in width. Our bedrooms are on two floors. One of which is ground floor level. These floors do contain stairs therefore please make it clear at the time of your reservation that you would require level access to your bedroom. On arrival Parking is restricted in Rye, so guests are advised to park outside the hotel for unloading luggage, and once settled in, we will direct you to a nearby car park. The Old Borough Arms welcomes families. We have travel cots upon request. Guide dogs and other well behaved dogs are welcome. There are no signs inside our guest house in Braille.
Is reception open all the time? 

Reception is NOT manned 24 hours a day, however there is a phone number to ring in case of emergency.

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the Old Borough Arms property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.
